IODE LABRADOR BURSARY
The Labrador Bursary Fund began in 1982 when IODE members initiated a capital fund for the purpose of granting bursaries to eager, bright coastal high school students accepted at community college, university, technical or vocational schools.
Since then, IODE has encouraged over 100 students through these bursaries; continued personal contact demonstrates an interest in them. Every recipient who maintains his or her marks receives ongoing support to graduation.
The available interest on the capital is divided between renewals and new applicants. Each year the demand for the IODE Labrador Bursary far exceeds the money available. Contributions from individuals and chapters to the Labrador Bursary Fund are most welcomed.
Application Forms for the next academic year are available each year in October. New applications must be forwarded to Director of Education, Labrador School Board or Western School District by February 15th. Renewal Applications must reach The National Chapter head office by March 15th.
