The Joan Butler Award in Perinatal Intensive Care Nursing was established in 1988 by Bruce Butler in memory of his wife Joan, a former National Officer.
Perinatal care refers to the health care women receive during and directly after the birth of their child. The annual award is given to each of two Canadian graduate nurses enrolled in the certificate program in Perinatal Intensive Care Nursing at George Brown College, Toronto.
