Proposed Agenda in Brief

With viral infection still prevalent and the travel industry unstable, the Board of Directors recognized it would be preferable to conduct the 2023 Annual Meeting by video conferencing. 

The IODE Canada Board of Directors in partnership with IODE Ontario members welcome members and guests from across Canada to the 2023 Annual Meeting.

​The 2023 National Annual Meeting 24, 25, 26 May 2023 will be held as Zoom meetings and is open to all members.  Attending annual meetings who truly believe in volunteer community service and learn from their experiences.  This year’s guest speaker will focus on the concept of ALLYSHIP (Nothing About Us, Without Us).  Discover why it is important to ASK  and LISTEN to  those with  the lived experience; and then ACT on their input!​

• Stronger Today - Keeping Chapters Healthy Workshop - IODE Canada President Jane Cushing and IODE Ontario President Helen Danby will discuss strategies to keep your chapter vibrant.  Bring your own ideas and feel free to steal ideas from others.

• Stronger Tomorrow - Growing Leadership Workshop - How to inspire and encourage members to take on chapter responsibilities.  An opportunity to learn a different approach or technique while connecting with other members.

• Primary Presidents' Workshop - Informal setting aimed to generate some concrete answers to current questions with a good opportunity to learn new skills.

• IODE War Memorial Scholarships - Announcing the three recipients.
• 100th Anniversary Grant - Learn about the Hamilton YWCA’s Supervised Virtual Parenting Program.
• Share a Story – Bring a Book - A National Annual Meeting project, since 2011.  This program collects funds from the IODE members and chapters to be presented to the worthy recipient(s) in the province hosting the National Annual Meeting.   To date this project has donated over 3,250 books to support early literacy projects.  In order to sustain our support for this project at this National Annual Meeting, monetary donations by e-Transfer will be accepted or cheques may be mailed to ​IODE Canada, 80 Birmingham Street, Suite B6, Toronto, ON   M8V 3W6.  With these funds, books will be possible for the chosen organization.
• BounceBack® IODE is spreading awareness about the Canadian Mental Health Association’s (CMHA) initiative to help individuals manage mild to moderate depression, anxiety, or stress. Delivered over the phone with a coach and/or through online videos this mental health support is available across Canada.  
• ​Membership Awards - The Provincial award is based on the greatest percentage of new members in a provincial chapter.  The Membership Crystal Challenge Cup is awarded annually to the Primary Chapter attaining the most new members.
• IODE Violet Downey Book Award - Meet this year's winning Canadian author.

• Installation of the 2023/2024 Officers​

 5:00 p.m.

• Social - Invitation to the 2024 National Annual Meeting held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

Promoting IODE membership with custom lapel pins and static cling decals are available for purchase

Our custom-crafted IODE logo lapel pins are a great example of a small item that can have a big impact.  The embossed lapel pin is ½ inch square, with the colourized IODE logo on a gold metal finish, complete with a butterfly clutch fastener.  The IODE lapel pin is a personal element to display your IODE affiliation – on jackets and coats.

Using our tradition red and blue colours the IODE logo is printed on premium white vinyl and looks great on any window.  These decals are made of flexible vinyl that will stick to clean glass surfaces, metal and other smooth, non-porous surfaces.  Both the printed side and reverse side will  cling  to  glass, allowing  you  to  apply your designs inside or outside your car window.  The logo static cling decal is 4.5” x 5.25”, includes the IODE tagline and website.

All proceeds from the sale of the decals and lapel pins will benefit the
