​IODE Canada is a national women's charitable organization. Women of all ages, from all walks of life and backgrounds, meet in local chapters for fun, friendship and community volunteerism.

Members volunteer with and for people, focusing on Children, Education and Community Services.  Each IODE chapter has the autonomy to choose and support projects in their own community.  With just a few monthly hours, you can make a difference and form lifelong friendships.

The main benefit of belonging to IODE is being part of a like-minded group of women who work together to improve the quality of life for those in need.

​​Women dedicated to a better Canada is our official motto.  IODE members are filled with energy and creativity and have a clear sense of purpose.  Our fundraising activities have supported education and citizenship programs and community services to those in need at home and abroad since 1900. ​

IODE War Memorial Scholarships

​The National Chapter of Canada IODE initiated War Memorial Doctoral  Scholarships in 1918 to commemorate Canadians who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom.  Initially, bursaries were granted to children of men and women who lost their lives or who were permanently disabled while fighting for Canada.  Since the first scholarships were awarded in 1921, IODE War Memorial Scholars have made important contributions to Canada and the world in medicine, science, business, politics and academia. ​

IODE Snack Pack Program

Make a contribution to support IODE Snack Pack through the IODE Snack Pack Program now.

​IODE started breakfast programs in Labrador in 1978. School children in Davis Inlet and Northwest River received a daily nutritious mid-morning snack, including milk, to supplement their scanty diet. It was recognized that an inadequate diet limits the ability to learn.
​
​IODE Canada is proud of this program that is funded by primary chapters across Canada and individual donors.  ​IODE Snack Pack is successful thanks to the enthusiastic co-operation of teachers and parents who prepare and serve the daily snack.

IODE 100th Anniversary Grant Program

​​In 2000, IODE Canada’s 100th Anniversary gift to Canada was an ongoing grant program open to an individual or group specializing in developing and implementing ways to prevent child abuse and neglect.  This award is given in alternate years.

IODE Violet Downey Book Award

The award is offered annually for the best English language book containing at least 500 words of text (preferably with Canadian content) in any category, suitable for children aged 13 and under. To be eligible, the book must have been  written by a Canadian citizen and must have been published in Canada during the  calendar year immediately preceding the National Chapter Annual Meeting held in May.

​One of our long-term funding strategy is responsible financial planning and management that will ensures IODE Canada to continue carrying out its mission.  The result is a fund named Together for Tomorrow. 

Donors receive a charitable income tax receipt for the full amount contributed.​

Citizenship

IODE members are committed to building their community in a meaningful and positive way by contributing countless volunteer hours annually through a variety of activities.

​​2024 IODE RCMP Community Service Award​

​IODE Canada, on behalf of its members, established an annual RCMP Community Service Award to recognize a member, unit or detachment of the RCMP for exemplary public service to their community outside of their official duties. ​ The award is presented during the national annual meeting.

​Echoes is the official publication ​for IODE members across Canada.

​Echoes has been published continually since 1902 sharing news of fellow IODE members, reporting on issues that affect IODE, providing new fundraising ideas and celebrating the success of our charitable projects.

Members Only Resources Website ​

The Members Only Resources Website contains an array of resources and tools, to meet the needs for Chapter Members and Officers.  The website includes a digital library with the IODE regulations, images files, downloadable templates and more.

Access to this area is protected by password ​issued to IODE Members only, contact the National Office for authorization.
