Prince Edward Island is one of Canada’s most popular vacation destinations and is home to the birthplace of Confederation. The convenient downtown location of Rodd Charlottetown Hotel allows you to easily experience the Victorian charm of the city on foot and the rest of the Island.
The theme of our 124th Annual Meeting is Together Again. What a fitting theme - not since 2019 in Saint John, New Brunswick have we been able to attend the National Annual Meeting in person. The National Officers are busy in partnership with members from IODE Lady Holland and IODE Lady’s Slipper Chapters in Charlottetown planning an exciting three-day agenda to conduct IODE business, participate in workshops, witness award ceremonies and reconnect with friends. |
For those unable to join us in-person, you will be able to register for a daily IODE National Annual Meeting Zoom link.

Wednesday 29 May will begin with First Time Attendees Meet and Greet Workshop - Welcome to your first National Annual Meeting, we can’t wait to meet you. During this informal meeting we will let you know what to expect and learn more about what the conference has to offer and encourage you tell us about your expectations for the conference and who you would like to meet.
On the eve of IODE’s 125th Anniversary we encourage members to research and document how IODE has impacted their communities since 1900. IODE members have done a great deal of service for Canada and it behooves us to document our achievements. The second workshop is IODE History - Archiving. The workshop’s leaders will provide tools to start archiving. Collectively we can provide a record of past events, projects and programs, to record the accomplishments of who lived before us. These historical documentations also help us to understand how the world came to be as it is today.

Summary from the
123rd National Annual Meeting With viral infection still prevalent and the travel industry unstable, the Board of Directors recognized it would be preferable to conduct the 2023 Annual Meeting by video conferencing.
The IODE Canada Board of Directors in partnership with IODE Ontario members welcome attendees from across Canada to the 2023 Annual Meeting. The National Annual Meeting 24, 25, 26 May 2023 was held as Zoom meetings and was open to all members and guests. Those attending the annual meetings truly believe in volunteer community service and learn from each others experiences. This year’s guest speaker focused on the concept of ALLYSHIP (Nothing About Us, Without Us). Discovering why it is important to ASK and LISTEN to those with the lived experience; and then ACT on their input! |
